It’s your career on the line, not mine.
Here’s what will be covered.
GPT for Resume
GPT for Applications
GPT for HR Interview
GPT for Technical Interview
GPT for Final Interview
For this post, I got a person from the discord to share their resume, and we’ll be using that, and I’ll show you how I’d use GPT if I were in his position. Here’s a sample of the resume btw:
For all of these, we’ll be using whatever the latest version of GPT is.
As of writing this, it’s o1.
1 - GPT For Resume
If you’ve read my post on how to build a good resume, then the odds are you probably don’t need this section, but if you haven’t then here’s the link for it.
The main idea is you want to put keywords in bold to grab the HR lady’s job (and the ATS) to bypass the basic filters. Then, you want to write actual useful bullet points for the Hiring Manager to show him/her that you speak the data science lingo, and that you can actually get the job done without them having to babysit you.
If you’re on the discord server, I’ve already showed you a template of what a good resume looks like, so I’ll give GPT that specific resume, then the resume above, and ask it to tweak some of the bullet points in the work experience section to match it.
Here’s what it looks like:
Obviously GPT made half of the stuff up, and it also made the bullet points too long, so with a slight re-tweak we can definitely have our abc123 resume setup with a strong foundation.
Voila. Not a bad start:
Now that you have the base foundation here, you’ll need to clean it up a bit by hand here and there, and you basically never need to touch your resume again.
Obviously the priority for your resume is:
Work Experience (Most important)
Certification (not certificates)
Education
Projects/Skills (Least Important)
Hence why I had GPT focus on the work experience section.
2 - GPT For Applications
Be sure to read this post to maximize the number of applications.
Something that’s annoying as hell is when you are applying for a job, is when the company makes you answer dumb questions which they probably won’t even read the answer to in the first place. Or, if they do, you don’t want to waste any time on it more than you have to.
So…. Why not just get GPT to answer the questions on your behalf?
